Contractor invoice template
For contractors and trades — remodelers, electricians, plumbers, landscapers and handypersons — who bill for labor and materials.
Opens the invoice editor with starter line items. Enter your own rates, then download the PDF.
Use the contractor templateWhat to include
- Your business name, contact details and license number if you show it on paperwork
- The client's name and the job site address
- Invoice number, invoice date and due date
- Labor and materials as separate lines, plus equipment, permits or disposal fees
- Any deposit or progress payment already received
- Payment terms and how to pay
Tips
- List labor and materials separately. In some states they are taxed differently — use the per-line “Tax” checkbox to tax only the lines that are taxable.
- For larger jobs, invoice in stages (progress billing) and reference the stage in the description, for example “Phase 2 of 3: framing”.
- Bill approved change orders as their own lines so the client can match them to what they signed.
- Some clients or lenders ask for lien waivers when they pay. Those are separate legal documents; Slipfold does not create them.
How to fill it in
- Open the template and add your business name, contact details and (optionally) your logo. They're remembered on this device for next time.
- Add your client's name and address, or pick a saved client.
- Edit the starter line items, enter quantities and rates, and set tax, discount or shipping if they apply.
- Choose payment terms (for example Net 30) and add payment instructions in Notes.
- Download the PDF and send it to your client from your own email.
