Good to know
- Your data lives in this browser. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, it won't be there — use Export backup to keep a copy or move it.
- Free PDFs include a small line at the bottom: “Made with Slipfold — free invoice generator”.
- Slipfold doesn't send emails or take card payments. You download the PDF and send it yourself; add your payment details or link in the notes.
- You stay in charge of tax. Slipfold applies the rate you enter; it isn't tax advice.
Questions
Is Slipfold really free?
Yes. Creating, saving and downloading invoices, estimates and receipts is free and needs no account. Free PDFs carry a small “Made with Slipfold” line at the bottom.
Where are my invoices stored?
In your web browser's local storage on the device you're using. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else, and we can't see them. Export a backup (a JSON file) from My documents to keep a copy or move to another device.
Can I add my logo?
Yes — PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP. It's resized in your browser and remembered on this device for your next invoices.
Does it calculate sales tax?
It applies the tax rate you enter (sales tax, VAT, GST or any label you choose) and lets you exclude individual lines. It doesn't decide which rate applies to you — check your state or country's rules.
Can I send the invoice from Slipfold?
Not directly. Download the PDF and attach it to an email or message. That way it comes from your own address.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The editor works in modern mobile browsers, with a preview tab and a download button at the bottom of the screen.
Which languages and characters are supported in the PDF?
English and other languages written in Latin letters (including accents), plus Greek and Cyrillic. Other scripts, such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters, aren't supported in the PDF yet; the editor warns you if you type them.
